The infinite universe of Mariko Mori

This last summer we had the opportunity of visit Infinite Energy the japanese artist Mariko Mori´s artwork in Toronto (Canada).

Our team has collaborated in several Mori´s artworks  with Factum Arte:,  como la Möbius trip, Cyclicscape or Ekpyrotic String.

Materialize her idea in these pieces was a challenge. This artist designed her creations based on an infinite concept of the universe,  de ahí la forma en que her pieces seem endless, molded to never end.

A perfect example is the Cyclicscape collection, at the Sean Kelly Gallery, in New York. These eight sculptures develop as a curved band that embraces itself to fill the space.

Para este proyecto, el equipo de AR2V realizó un cálculo exhaustivo de las cimentaciones y el sistema de conexión de las piezas, así como el espesor necesario del aluminio para soportar las fuerzas que se desarrollaran.

Además de esa búsqueda de orígenes alternativos del universo, los trabajos de Mori se caracterizan por el cruce de las antiguas tradiciones japonesas con los medios actuales más sofisticados.
