One layer aluminium dome

Our client manufactures very lightweight aluminium domes for industrial, water sewerage and oil facilities. We provided assistance developing a global stability analysis of a large roof spanning 60 m. The structure is made out of aluminium profiles only 15 cm (5.9”) high. We also performed a non-linear analysis by Finite Elements and helped them optimizing the geometry of the dome and the structural capacity of the aluminium cross section (class 4 according to EC).
