Stone in Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum
The new Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi designed by Jean Nouvel shows three extraordinary stone walls designed by Jenny Holzer. These walls are made of marble and limestone, with texts in Arabic, French and Sanskrit engraved by Factum Arte.
AR2V was responsible for the engineering of the steel connections and the structural analysis of the stone panels.
Also we made different Finite Element Models to verify the behavior of the stone and the global system. In addition, several tests were carried out at the Torroja Institute that confirmed our calculations as well as the expected resistance for the system.
